Great rehearsal today, everyone! Just a reminder that this Friday is our DRESS REHEARSAL. Please see the weekly e-newsletter for timing and details... and also get excited for a great concert on Saturday! Tickets are available for purchase through the newsletter.

Saturday's concert call time is at 5:30 p.m. and the concert runs into the evening. Please ensure choristers have eaten and used the washroom prior to drop off at VIVA. Concert black dress with VIVA t-shirt please!

Roots: Growing Strong from Story to Song (A celebration of our choristers’ rich musical heritage) - for singers in Prep, Junior, Main, CYLS, EVM and Community Choir

Dress Rehearsal - Friday November 29

Attendance is mandatory. Please see specific choir call times below:

Prep - 4:45-6:00

Junior - 4:45-6:00

Main & CYLS - 4:45-7:00

Community - 5:45-7:00

EVM - 5:45-7:00

Concert - Saturday November 30

Call time - 5:30

Nov 4 - Rehearsal Summary

We had a great rehearsal today! Here's what we covered.

1 - Welcome and Warm-Up

2 - Seasons - working on full songs, introducing which sections you are responsible for

3 - Pass the Pumpkin game combined with rhythm ear training (ta and ti-ti patterns)

4 - Combined rehearsal with CYLS - more getting to know you + duet/trio groupings

First Chorus = Everyone

Autumn = Xeon (with Claire or Sarah L. TBC)

Winter = Reese with Evelyn

Middle Chorus = Robin with Sarah A.

Spring = Marianna with Georgia (and Sarah L. TBC)

Summer = Azalea with Piya

Last Chorus = Everyone

5 - Rhythm Master game + solfege ear training (so-mi and mi-re-do patterns)

6 - Combined rehearsal with Juniors - working on Star Songs in Indonesian and English

7 - Roots song - created action for our line and practiced the song together

Homework:

• Please polish Seasons, focusing on the section you are responsible for! Every chorister received a lyric sheet with their duet/trio part underlined. :) Please practice memorizing the words and singing your section.

• Please continue to sing through Bintang Kecil (the Indonesian section of Star Songs)
