Rehearsal Summary - January 25th

Hi Juniors!

Good to see you all again this week. I had lots of fun singing with you.

Here is a brief summary of our activities today:

1. Warm up - reviewed solfege scale and vowels

2. Checked in with each other

3. Did a "Hello Song" activity with actions

4. Sang a new song called "Listen to the Water" and everyone contributed

5. Sang our Goodbye Song!

That was a fun rehearsal! Here is a brief summary.

1. Physical warm-up: "You are a friend of mine" (mirroring stretches), ceiling and toes stretches

2. Welcome Song: Welcome to Music

3. Vocal warm-up: sighs and sirens, descending major scales on ah, oh, oo, ee

4. Spread a Little Sunshine: singing with actions

5. Rhythm Echoes: ta, ti-ti with drum/clapping/voice... + "you be the teacher" creation game

6. A Sailor Went to Sea: movement song

7. Theory book: complete/review up to and including page 8

8. This Little Light of Mine (verse 1)

9. Oh My Aunt Came Back: movement song

10. Do a Deer: singing with actions and solfege hand signs

11. Poison Pattern: quarter & eighth notes

1. Welcome to Music

2. Physical warm-up (stretching, 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1)

3. Vocal warm-up (sighs and sirens, descending scales with student choice of vowels and neutral syllables esp. ah, oh, oo, ee)

4. This Little Light of Mine (reviewed verse 1, noticed patterns, introduced notation)

5. Wake Up You Lazy Bones (movement song game)

6. Spread a Little Sunshine (sing with actions - reviewed chorus from last week, introduced repeat sign symbol)

7. The Horse Stood Around (movement song game)

8. Do, a Deer

10. Goodbye Song
