Hello Prep Families!

I hope your week is fun filled and music filled. We had a great day on Monday in the studio! Lots of energy! We were developing our sense of low and high sounds with some tracing graphics and we looked at Vicky Weber's "Rhythm Rescue" where we clapped Ta and Ti-ti rhythms to give tala her superpowers. We then created rhythms for our own super powers!

After our theory lesson we continued onto our snowy rep and reviewed "Snowman, Where'd you go" and our second piece "Snow is Falling" which will be a partner song with our Junior friends.

Please note we have started our fundraiser Sweets for Singers. Check online to see what sweet treats you can tell your family and friends about. Highest seller wins a Viva hoodie!

Thanks for lending your voices!

Amazing singing today. Here are a few things to remember:

  1. Warm ups - we focused on harmony while singing a C+ scale in canon and with solfa syllables.

  2. Snow is Falling Down

    - remember to listen when you are not singing and also remember to sit tall in your chairs

    - we worked through both lines separately and then sang both lines in harmony

    - this takes a lot of concentration! Good work!

  3. If The Snow Could Sing

    - remember the ending consonants - it's important that the audience can hear the story

    - we will look at the middle part at camp

  4. CAMP WEEKEND

    - I am excited to sing with you on the weekend...it's going to be a lot of fun!

    - I hope you all picked up the information forms at the meeting

    - if you have any questions, please contact Laura at laura@vivasingerstoronto.com She is in charge of this weekend and will have the answers.

    - See you on Friday! We will miss those of you not coming but we will review with you when we come back.

  5. NO REHEARSAL on Monday October 6th (directly after camp weekend) AND Monday October 13th (Thanksgiving).

  6. After camp, our next rehearsal at TSP is Monday October 20th.

  7. Sweets for Singers - our fundraiser has started - check online to see what sweet treats you can tell your family and friends about. Highest seller wins a Viva hoodie!
